Range Rules

Gun Range Rules

Every shooter, guardian, or observer entering any of our five shooting ranges must complete an electronic waiver by clicking the link SIGN OUR WAIVER at the bottom right corner of your screen and following its instructions. That single waiver is good for all our ranges, so you only need to sign one waiver each year.

For persons having a membership it is the responsibility of the “primary” member to ensure that all family members and guests entering the Parma Armory Shooting Center Gun Safety Training Institute facility are familiar with these Safety Rules and that they agree to abide by them. All persons, while in the facility including when attending open shooting sessions, scheduled shoots, or coaching or instruction classes, shall observe the following range and safety rules to ensure the safety of all participants. All range visitors must sign safety waiver once a year or upon changes to the waiver.

  1. We reserve the right to inspect all firearms, ammunition, and equipment
  2. Shooters under the age of eighteen must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  3. No steel jacketed/core/cased ammunition, solid brass/copper ammunition, armor-piercing ammunition or incendiary/explosive/tracer ammunition allowed in the range. Permitted shotgun ammunition is 00 Buck only. No slugs or birdshot.
  4. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times. Sunglasses are not permitted on the indoor range as eye protection.
  5. Firearms are to remain at the stalls at all times unless cased or holstered.
  6. If you are a novice shooter, it is your responsibility to inform a range employee. This is for your safety and others.
  7. All firearms are to be empty, made safe, pointed down range, and with the action open while not in use.
  8. Loaded firearms are not permitted outside the range unless holstered or safely secured in a case/bag and shall remain there while all other areas of the armory.
  9. In the event your firearm malfunctions or has any issues with firing properly, leave it in the stall pointing downrange and inform the Range Officer.
  10. Do not shoot any other target downrange except for the one directly in front of you at your assigned stall.
  11. Maximum of two (2) people inside of a stall at one time.
  12. Under no circumstances is anyone allowed to move across the shooting line. If something falls in from of the shooting line, as the Range Officer for assistance.
  13. In the case a cease-fire is called, open the action and set your firearm down in the stall, pointing downrange and step back away from the stall.
  14. Range time is rented in sixty (60) minute increments. Overage is billed in thirty (30) minute increments. It is your responsibility to monitor your time spent.
  15. No drawing from the holster. Shooters will be held responsible for damage caused by negligence.
  16. No rapid fire. You should maintain no less than one second between shot. Rapid fire serves no tactical purpose and it is disrespectful to others renting the range.
  17. No head shots. You will be responsible for any damage you cause to the target carrier. ($25 fee for each carrier hit and $300.00 for shooting down a carrier cable)
  18. If you wish to rent one of our firearms, you must use our ammunition.
  19. You are welcome to bring your own ammunition. All rifle and shotgun ammo must be in manufacturers box.

Enjoy your time with us and please clean up after yourself

3D Archery Range Policy

Every archer, guardian or observer entering upon the archery range must follow these rules. This copy is provided for your reference only. To be allowed to shoot at the Parma Armory 3D Archery Range, you must complete an electronic waiver by clicking the link SIGN OUR WAIVER at the bottom right corner of your screen and following its instructions. That waiver is good for one year, so you do not have to do this every time you visit the range.

For persons having a family membership it is the responsibility of the “primary” member to ensure that all family members and guests entering the Parma Armory Archery Range (PAAR) facility are familiar with these Safety Rules and that they agree to abide by them. All persons, while in the facility including when attending open shooting sessions, scheduled shoots, or coaching or instruction classes, shall observe the following range and safety rules to ensure the safety of all participants.

  1. Absolutely No Broadheads to be shot on the range or practice butts. (Except during specially designated Broadhead Practice if such is provided by PAAR at their discretion)
  2. Only target points and field points may be shot on this range. No Judo Points allowed.
  3. No firearms will be shot anywhere on the range at any time.
  4. Crossbows may be shot only at targets designated “CB.”
  5. Archers and guests will not cross or move forward of the shooting line, to retrieve arrows or for any other reason, until all shooting has ceased, cease fire has been declared, and all shooters on the shooting line know and acknowledge that there is a cease fire.
No person shall have a bow in hand during a Cease Fire, which is ended only after all persons have returned behind the shooting line and “all clear” has been spoken and agreed upon by all persons on the range.
  6. If you are alone on the range and need to go behind the target butt wall, you must place your bow CONSPICUOUSLY against the target butt wall as a signal that you are behind the wall. If you are in a group, one person must always stay visible, in front of the target butt wall, to ensure the safety of the person behind the target butt wall.
  7. Never shoot up towards the ceiling. Point arrows only at targets during the drawing process. If your bow draw-weight is so high that you must point your arrow upward to pull the string, reduce poundage. You may be responsible for the cost of repairing ceiling damage caused by an arrow you shoot towards the ceiling.
  8. Never put an arrow on the bow string until it is safe to shoot.
  9. It is the responsibility of every archer to insist upon strict standards of safety and courtesy.
  10. When sharing the range with other archers in open shooting, limit the number of arrows shot to a maximum of seven (7) before retrieving arrows. During a league, tournament, or other group event, the event manager shall determine the maximum number of arrows that may be shot before retrieving arrows.
  11. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drug use allowed on range.
  12. A person seeming to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or acting unruly or in an unsafe manner, will be asked to leave. Refunds will not be given.
  13. All persons on the range, whether an archer, observer, or Range Officer, has the right to – and should – loudly declare a Cease Fire upon seeing any dangerous situation.
  14. Head shots are not permitted on 3D targets. Aim for the body center mass areas embossed with scoring rings. Shooting the head or neck of a turkey target will make you subject to a possible $100 charge.
